Will Generative Artificial Intelligence Transform Humanity and War?

Date: April 4, 2023
Time: 1500–1615
Location: Glasgow 102 and Zoom

Controversy and hype surround the divergent propositions that ChatGPT and other generative AI innovations are dangerous and should be banned or are benign and should be embraced.

  • What should we make of the claim by Henry Kissinger, Eric Schmidt, and Dan Huttenlocher in their 23 February 2023 Wall Street Journal article that recent developments in Generative AI will bring challenges and change as significant as the printing press and Enlightenment?
  • Will Generative AI technologies fundamentally change how we think, find work, organize society, and conduct international relations and war?

The NPS Generative Artificial Intelligence (G-AI) Task Force invites the  community to join us as a panel of experts discusses these controversial claims and their implications this Tuesday, April 4, 1500–1615.

  • Dr. John Arquilla, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Defense Analysis
