Energy Academic Group - Energy Academic Group
Energy is a critical enabler of our national defense, both at home and abroad. Warfighters require energy to fight and win on the battlefield, and our installations require resilient infrastructure to prepare and deploy forces. To support this effort, NPS focuses on the study of operational energy in support of naval, and joint warfighting to ensure combat advantage 24/7 anywhere, anytime.
Energy security is an inter-service and multidisciplinary problem that requires interdisciplinary solutions from several expert fields. The Energy Academic Group (EAG) includes defense-expert faculty from across NPS’ departments, serving as a focal point and a Navy center of academic excellence for operational energy graduate education, professional certificates, military exercises and training, as well as applied research.
Our efforts focus on solving the Navy, Marine Corps, and Department of Defense's (DoD) most critical energy problems, from seabed to space, and from force endurance to installation resilience. Our training and education efforts are steeped in operational lessons learned, the basic sciences, innovative engineering, operations and analysis, military prowess, and business methods.
EAG’s Vision Statement
The Energy Academic Group envisions a future where energy resilience, innovation, and security are foundational to national defense. By shaping leaders, advancing cutting-edge research, and fostering global partnerships, EAG will be a driving force in ensuring the Navy and the Department of Defense are prepared to operate and prevail in an energy-contested battlespace.
